Troll 2
First spoiler about this movie, there are absolutely no trolls in it! Mind blown, right?! That was my exact reaction as I watched this random gem.
I first came across Troll 2 when I saw trailers for a documentary called “The Best Worst Movie.” First off, I’ve yet to see the documentary, I was more concerned with seeing the movie that gained a cult following because it was so horrible. And just to put this into greater perspective, I’ve now seen this movie four times. Color me cult follower.
Director Claudio Fragasso, has a large repertoire of movies he’s attached to, although most of the movies I’ve never even heard of. Possibly for good reason. The cast is a bunch of no namers who, without a doubt, thought this movie would give them the break they needed. George Hardy, the actor who plays Michael Waits, is now running his own dentistry in a small town, never attempted acting again after Troll 2. Even though Hardy does run around to partake in premiers of “The Best Worst Movie,” his fame is solely based on the fact that he was a horrible actor. He looks back on it with laughter, I’m sure.
Despite my harsh words so far, this movie must be seen by everyone, right meow. It is literally the best worst movie, ever. Best served in a large group, it is one of those movies where scenes will come up, lines will be spit, problems will be unsolved and all you can do is laugh and let out a large “WTF?!” An altered state of mind will also provide for different effect and reactions. Just a suggestion, coming from someone who did view this movie on four separate occasions.
