Unicorn Luffers Rejoice!

Despicable Me
Animated features are beating out the live action competition these days, and it seems like every major studio wants a bite. Despicable me is Universal’s contender for best animated feature of the year, and I wouldn't be surprised if they get it.
The best part of Despicable Me is that it has a little something for everyone. Kids will love the plushy yellow minions, and the wacky scenarios, adults will fawn over the referential humor, and teary-eyed girlfriends will relish the emotional moments. Trust me on the last one, I know.
One of the other great things about this movie is that the lead actors sport unique vocal transformations. What I mean by this, is that it was hard to believe that all of those strange characters were voiced by the likes of Jason Segal, Steve Carrel, Kristen Wiig, Russell Brand, and Will Arnett. All of these vocally iconic actors/actresses disguised their vocals so well that I spent most of the movie trying to pick out familiar speech patterns. Fooled me!
Another quick mention is that the majority of the soundtrack was put together by Pharrell Williams. As he is a personal friend of mine and inspiration, I must say.
“GREAT JOB!”
